Kallisio develops patient-specific solutions for precision radiation therapy. The company’s flagship Stentra™ system addresses a persistent challenge in head and neck cancer radiation therapy: reliably positioning and displacing healthy tissue away from high-dose radiation and maintaining reproducibility throughout treatment. In as little as 72 hours, Stentra leverages patient imaging, digital design automation, and rapid additive manufacturing to deliver a custom intraoral immobilization and tongue-displacement device designed around each patient’s anatomy. By stabilizing the tongue, lips, and other oral structures, Stentra supports consistent tissue positioning and reproducible setup across fractions, helping clinicians deliver highly precise radiation while reducing unnecessary exposure to organs at risk (OARs). Stentra is specifically designed for the realities of head and neck radiation therapy, where small changes in positioning can affect the relationship between the target and impact to surrounding critical structures. The result is a solution designed to deliver value at multiple levels: more reproducible patient positioning, more consistent tissue displacement, reductions in unnecessary dose to healthy tissue, improved treatment workflow, and greater utilization of existing radiation therapy capacity. By addressing positioning and protection before treatment begins, Stentra shifts toxicity management from reactive to proactive. Published research on custom intraoral stents has reported clinically meaningful benefits, including: - 48% reduction in severe mucositis - 33% reduction in swallowing difficulties and taste impairment - 30% reduction in radiation dose to the tongue These findings support the potential of patient-specific intraoral positioning and tissue displacement as an upstream intervention to reduce treatment-related toxicity. By minimizing unnecessary radiation exposure to healthy tissue, this approach also has downstream implications for supportive medication use, treatment interruptions, hospitalizations, and overall cost of care. The Stentra value extends beyond dosimetry and patient care. Initial clinical implementation experience suggests meaningful workflow efficiencies, including: - 3 to 7 minutes saved per treatment fraction - 3 to 4 hours of recovered LINAC capacity per patient treatment course - Decreased simulation re-scans and unplanned interventions By reducing treatment time, rework, and workflow variability, Stentra has the potential to significantly increase LINAC capacity, improve scheduling predictability, and optimize staff utilization—without requiring major changes to existing radiation oncology infrastructure. Kallisio partners with leading cancer centers to bring patient-specific precision care into routine clinical practice. HIPAA-compliant, Stentra integrates into existing oncology workflows without requiring PHI. Stentra is FDA-cleared, CE-marked and supported by quality systems aligned with ISO 13485. The technology is already deployed at leading cancer centers, including Stanford Health Care and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Kallisio is now expanding access to Stentra through clinical partnerships designed to support evaluation and implementation. Ask us about our proof-of-value pilot program that includes onboarding, support and devices for up to 10 qualified patients at no cost. Stentra represents Kallisio’s broader vision for scalable, patient-specific precision oncology—combining digital workflows, automated design, and rapid additive manufacturing to bring individualized solutions into routine clinical care. Beyond Stentra, Kallisio is extending its approach and governance-ready precision oncology platform to localized cryotherapy and targeted drug-delivery use cases.
